Now in it's 3rd year, what will 2006 bring to the Challenge, with an already rich spectrum of venues and events already on the list...

Good luck to all Challengers, may 2006 be your most interesting and bizarre so far.

Please click on the thumbnail to see each photograph and on your browsers 'back' button to return to this page

The Winner of the 200 RND Challenge is Javi the Heiwa who became unbeatable as he toured the world

Congratulations Heiwa for an outstanding Challenge win, setting a world class standard...

Javi (aka Heiwa) was the first to submit his photos in 2006 and is now back from his world tour. For the full selection of his photos from around the worlds sporting his Red Nemesis Dog T-shirt please go to http://www.heiwasroundtheworld.name/RNDvsRTW/

These are his top 10 photos, with a bit of explanation from the Globe Trotter himself

This is the final entry for 2006.

''Completely naive at the beginning of the trip and contemplating the awesome view of the Cat Ba Island National Park in the biggest island of Halong bay... a magical place in Vietnam!!''

''Wishing that Ganesh (in the area of Hampi) will give me good luck for the rest of my stay in India... I will need it... the hardest place for travelling... but looking back one of the most impressive for culture, tradition and colours! I will definitely go back!''

''Angkor Wat... Speechless... any comments will spoil the majesty of this enchanting place...''

''Heiwa's RND is taking mummy on her first helicopter ride... she is the one taking the picture ;o) We went up to admire the amazing Fox and Franz Joseph glaciers.''

''Wickedweasel... the best bikinis in the world... just for this picture deserves a trip to Byron Bay... I thought to ask one of the girls wearing one be in the picture with me... but my shyness took over the situation... shame :oP''

''Surfing in Manly Beach... when in Rome... do as the Romans do...
When in Sydney... just pretend you can stand on a board... I still have a lot to learn!''

''The best place on Earth... under the water... and the great Barrier reef just makes it even better... 11 dives in three days... more Nitrogen in the blood than oxygen... and it felt goooooooooooooooood (Narcosis... another type of addiction).''

''Guess where I am¿? It is a fake picture collage over a Machu Pichu brochure ;oD''

''My Fave!!! Ready for an ice trek! Rubbish old trainers...
summer trousers... and winter overalls: My RND-T... ready to get to the Cerro Torre glacier! Really cool experience!''

''At the top of the Villarica Volcano (+ or - 9000 feet).
Some better clothes for the occasion... but same T! We climb the snow cover volcano for almost 4 or 5 hours... and we slid on our butt all the way down... A SuperSlide. Back to childhood.''

First to submit his challenge for 2006, is another dedicated player.

Javi is so committed to the challenge that he quit his job and started a world tour in search of appropriate RND venues...

Here he is outside the Petronas towers

...definitely the best T-shirt of the 3...

P1200272.JPG (651538 bytes)

and now he's off to Phnom Penh.

Ben kicks off his challenge in the beautiful winter sun at Peña de Francia monastery which is at the top of a 1700m mountain in the Sierra de Francia, south of Salamanca _ICT0019.JPG (82998 bytes) _ICT0020.JPG (88886 bytes)
_ICT0021.JPG (117275 bytes) _ICT0023.JPG (81026 bytes) Natasha wearing a coat probably gives away the temperature, which was 4 degrees below zero
And Claire also joins the Challenge, having toured Africa with her T-shirt (actually over Christmas 2005) CIMG1774_2.jpg (97735 bytes) CIMG1784_2.jpg (239048 bytes) ...and here's the proof...At the Victoria Falls
Dans La Calanque de Sormiou qui est a cote de Cassis en Mediterranee100_1247.jpg (986047 bytes) 100_1249.jpg (765784 bytes) Maxime hadn't polished the brass on the boat to the captains satisfaction and was forced to sleep on the end of the boom. The seagull clearly didn't find the RND logo interesting at all... 100_1218.jpg (612912 bytes)
Just when you thought it was all over... Emma P comes back with challenge to rival Fredericks sky dive of 2005. Throwing herself off Slovenian mountains and all for the RND Challenge

and so back to terra firma with the t-shirt to prove it!

Galapagos Islands.

 Boobies

Galapagos Islands.

These Iguanas may look sweet (in a leathery kind of way), but get too close and the dirty little beggars spit at you. That’s no way to treat a guest to your islands if you ask me.

Galapagos Islands.

Couldn’t believe how close you can get to the sea lions. Later on in the trip, we were literally stepping over them to follow the footpath round the island

Galapagos Islands.

The tortoises were very shy, as soon as you got close, they sucked their heads into their shells and refused adamantly to come out until “all those bloody cameras were put away”.

Still in Galapagos.

This tunnel was actually formed from lava flowing out of the volcano on Santa Cruz. As you can see, it’s not exactly a small flow.

Loja, Southern Ecuador

Ben Explains: These are some of the kids from the Albergue that my parents-in-law help to run. The ages range from 3-18 yrs, and most of the kids are either abused, abandoned or their families simply can’t look after them. Despite that, they are a wonderful, lively, happy bunch and Javi is doing a marvellous job helping them out for a couple of months.

You can find out more at http://www.terra.es/personal/alinleon/ (in Spanish I’m afraid).

Puyo, Eastern Ecuador (start of the Amazon Rainforest)

Ben playing at being Tarzan. About 5 minutes after this photo was taken, a girl in our group fell off and broke her pelvis. Not a great start to our Jungle Tour :o(

Javi continues his world tour, with a stay in Ecuador helping under-privileged kids. He is also continuing to be the ambassador for RND across the globe. Check out his blog, it is truly excellent, at:

This is Rosa

...and this is Yanina

The summer does seem to be the time for the Northern Hemisphere to travel, and despite my worst fears, my wife and daughter did remember to have their photo's taken in RND T's ... A big thank you to Stuart & Melissa for being the perfect hosts and making it a holiday of a lifetime.

Ags, Stuey and Melissa at The Great Barrier Reef,  someone had to get there first!

My beautiful daughter

My beautiful daughter, again

100_5000.jpg (365520 bytes)

Melbourne harbour, honest...

Martin crossed the Atlantic to escape the Swedish onset of Autumn and headed straight for the sun and heat in order to do a bit of sightseeing out in the desert...

unfortunately he forgot to take bottled water to Death Valley...

...after an exhausting crawl across the desert he managed to find lots of water at the Hoover Dam

Having been told how wonderful Las Vegas was he crossed the desert again to visit the delights of the Casino's, but the kitsch was too much, he is seen her running out of the city...

...and so back to the Californian version of civilisation known as Los Angeles. Pictured here, extremely relaxed with the sky line of the City of Angels in the background

After working for nearly 9 and a half years at the Monster Worldwide factory I was re-engineered, re-purposed and re-allocated out of Monster and thrown (without re-training or re-programming) out into the big wide world, and what a great place it is.

Anyway, here I am with Peter and Susie handing over my access passes at Chancery Lane, at the end of a great and fun time.

...just off for a long lunch...

As you all know that I know zero about football, I will let Andy tell you all about this photo...

''This was taken at the last ever Arsenal vs. Tottenham match at Highbury before the move to the new stadium. I was in the seat right by the corner flag and the butt that I am pointing at belongs to Cesc Fabregas, one of our best players and the current European 21 player of the Year.''

When he refers to 'one of our best players', please be advised that he is not referring to a footballer in the excellent (and secret) Red Nemesis Dog Football team, nor is he referring to a Tottenham player...

Javi goes from strength to strength...Is there any country or corner of South America he is not going to visit!!

as he says ''two classic landmarks of the planet''...

Awesome!

Corcobado (Río de Janeiro)

Isla de Pascua (Chile)
